The Sport Thread - excel99 - 12-02-2022 [quote=RhysJR post_id=68105 time= user_id=1340] BBC to show the flagship UK athletics events. Usually a lot of dithering and negotiations for this contract, so nice to see it agreed early on in the year. The Sport Thread - Brekkie - 12-02-2022 C4 using a slightly tweaked version of their generic graphics for the Super League but with the Super League logo taking prominence over the C4 logo. The Sport Thread - Amber Avenger - 12-02-2022 Also C4 seem to have taken the decision to count the timer down from 40 in each half rather than up from 0-80 over both halves which has confused me a couple of times! The Sport Thread - Rdd - 12-02-2022 Don’t Fox Sports Australia do the same for NRL? Probably makes sense since rugby league games don’t last long once the clock runs red. Feels like the sort of thing which will be dropped by the second match. The Sport Thread - Rdd - 12-02-2022 ESPN U.K. did do it in union incidentally, for Premiership Rugby. They had an odd bottom scorebar which changed shape. It lasted for the entire time ESPN covered PRL and only changed to the more conventional method when BT took over. The new scorebar has leaked out online..... I always used to find it interesting that on Sky Sports coverage the clock counts up for home viewers, but counts down on the feed they supply to big screens in stadia. The Sport Thread - LiamFitz28 - 12-02-2022 Looks like the Sky Sports News presenters are moving to ‘set shifts’ from this week. I’ve seen a number of new posts from different presenters seemingly confirming it… The Sport Thread - Robertclark125 - 12-02-2022 Only one person with Miles Harrison, for ITV, in the commentary box for France v Ireland today in the 6 nations. David Flatman tested positive, and so misses this game, and presenting the premiership highlights tomorrow as well. Not sure if Topsy Ojo will present solo, or if Hugh Woosencroft, who done the live premiership game for ITV, will substitute. https://twitter.com/davidflatman/status/1492511708488871941 The Sport Thread - Rdd - 12-02-2022 NYCsporty post_id=68155 time= user_id=1588 Wrote:Rdd post_id=68119 time= user_id=1409 Wrote:The trend has been, looking at responses to this on the 506 Sports forums, as well as how other networks have implemented new scorebar graphics, to make them larger & more viewer-friendly for those watching on mobile devices.NYCsporty post_id=68050 time= user_id=1588 Wrote:NBC, as many networks that've hosted the Super Bowl have done in recent years, will unveil a new graphics package for the Big Game on Sunday. The new scorebar has leaked out online..... I think it’s always been the case though, that US graphics have always been larger and louder than in Europe. The existing NBC scorebar isn’t exactly tiny either. Fox had a smaller one for a while in the mid 2010s. CBS’ new graphics introduced last year are of a similar size as the ones they replaced. Could Ryle Nugent be able to commntate for Italy v England tomorrow or will Miles Harrison do it to cover for Flatman's absence? EDIT:Oh hang on. Is David Flatman a co-commentator for ITV's 6N coverage? The Sport Thread - Brekkie - 12-02-2022 TIGHazard post_id=68097 time= user_id=904 Wrote:I think the reasoning why the Super Bowl is switching to One is because of the fact the sports at the Winter Olympics are deemed to be more 'minor' (thanks to NBC lobbying).Surprisingly given much of the Figure Skating has been moved to the mornings for the benefit of NBC the medals in the flagship Ice Dance event are being decided at the same time as the second half of the Superbowl, though I suspect the intention is for the end of it to be either live or delayed on NBC in the post-Superbowl slot. Not sure if Topsy Ojo will present solo, or if Hugh Woosencroft, who done the live premiership game for ITV, will substitute. Nick Mullins is booked to be the lead commentator for ITV tomorrow, I think Flats was meant to be in the studio in London, as he would be needed to do the Premiership highlights. The Sport Thread - Brekkie - 12-02-2022 Has the commentary for the games in Paris/Rome been on site or off-tube? Also see BBC1 is networking Six Nations Sin Bin. Last week they slotted it on Friday night when they needed half an hour filler before the Winter Olympics, but tonight they're repeating a preview of the Wales v Scotland game hours after the game has taken place, which seems a bit pointless. |
