I get that it's to make the logo look balanced, but I wonder how long it'll be until misaligned logos start popping up everywhere.

They were also off-centre in the 2002 logo but it was boxed so it was always aligned properly.

this is the problem of using ONE in caps, in almost all typefaces it always looks unbalanced because of the difference in relative widths of the O and E - it looked particularly horrible in Gill Sans because the O was a perfect circle.

It's a disappointing and a missed opportunity to create some decent logotypes for all the channels - something which doesn't just look misaligned however you twiddle with it - it's not something that they can fix with that font, even by positioning things optically - it will always look off.

Not quite all. The One Show will change logo, and I imagine that Question Time will as well.

Why would Question Time get new titles? They’ll get at least another 10 years out of them!

That is absolutely fine if you like the lowercase style of the one logo, however can I just say to you that it does look out of touch with most of the BBC's services using capital letters, that's why it's better for BBC One to go back to full capital letters using ONE instead of one, do you understand where I'm coming from.

At least those still using the old BBC ONE logo will now be semi-current.

The lowercase 'one' was only ever created to allow the 'o' to be at the centre of the circle idents. It was odd that they kept it after the move to 'Oneness'.

I do agree it works better due to the aforementioned alignment issues, but isn't ideal to have the flagship channel in lowercase when others are in uppercase.

I think numerals forms from the blocks could work for 1, 3 and 4, but 2 is the trickiest one, especially if keeping the curves.

More seriously, my firm went through a high profile rebrand in the last few years and I waited a few months for my new card and lanyard to turn up - front line employees understandably got priority. I'd imagine the BBC would be similar.

It's amazing how long some elements stick around for. I'm sure we saw a late-90s/early noughties BBC Sport umbrella turn up on coverage not that many years ago.

Slightly OT but with the earlier talk of radio and the circular theme a fairly decent attempt at a Radio 1 Bond Ident airing every hour on the red button at the moment. Kind of a glimpse of what could gave been.
