They didn’t seem to realise at all. I watched it on the Hub (live) and there was sound in the first report. RE: ITV News: March 2022 onwards - bkman1990 - 11-05-2022 Tonight is the very 1st time that I seen Robert Peston wearing Nike trainers on his show. I have to admit here; they actually look good on him. RE: ITV News: March 2022 onwards - finty6 - 24-05-2022 May have been mentioned elsewhere, but the ITV Evening News is back at half an hour all next week to make way for the BGT Semi Finals. I'd be interested to know how the extended bulletin has fared, and whether the second half hour sees the audience dropping away. RE: ITV News: March 2022 onwards - Brekkie - 25-05-2022 The soaps have held up well with the changes so I'm guessing the news has as well. I do think they have done a good job of fleshing it out to an hour but I do miss having that fairly concise early evening round up in little more than 20 minutes. RE: ITV News: March 2022 onwards - Andrew - 25-05-2022 I’m not entirely sure the weather slot is working too well, although to be fair having a ‘weather chat’ on the national news will be a new thing for ITN to get to grips with. It’s all a bit stilted. I’m also finding it a bit southern biased, both in terms of the presenter ‘throw’ line into the weather, and the places they’ve been on OBs. They could actually spend a bit longer on the forecast as well. RE: ITV News: March 2022 onwards - Brekkie - 25-05-2022 I think it's fine but arguably would be an area where utilising the regional forecasters more for the OBs would put more regional emphasis into the show. RE: ITV News: March 2022 onwards - CameronYoung - 30-05-2022 There was no ad break between the regional news and national news on Tyne Tees, although the national news is still using the updated set. Will have to see if the forecast is tagged onto the end or still incorporated. EDIT: Using the new 'coming up' graphics, too, which imply the forecast will be incorporated; Alex is at Buckingham Palace. You see, this is why it was a weird move. You migrate the audience to the new slots, only to shove them back again to the old ones! It would make more sense to take one or both shows off for BGT week, which also allows for a big budget cliffhanger stunt (c/f the "Olympic Cliffhangers" Channel Seven do when Home & Away needs to vacate the premises for games coverage in Australia.) Other than that there are no set updates, yet. Updated background might be a better phrase. RE: ITV News: March 2022 onwards - Ben Shatliff - 02-06-2022 Does anybody know why ITV are not doing extensive coverage of the Jubilee Celebrations like they have in the past? Maybe because they always get trounced in the ratings? Maybe because more than 50% of the public (as polled by YouGov) either don't care about or simply aren't celebrating it? Daily Question | 18/05/2022 | YouGov RE: ITV News: March 2022 onwards - Brekkie - 02-06-2022 Not having plans to celebrate isn't the same as not being willing to watch it on TV though. Most people just don't want enforced organised "fun" with the neighbours who barely make eye contact with them the rest of the year. |
