Now scheduled from 15:55 on Sky Sports Premier League.

Channel 4 got a bespoke introduction from Vernon Kay to their Formula E coverage seamlessly joining the world feed for a recap of qualifying, 15 minutes in. Pitlane reporter Nicki Shields presented on the world feed until they joined.

Edit: a bespoke closure also as Vernon Kay plugged upcoming rugby coverage.

Rare outing for the studio setup used in BBC Two's coverage of the African Cup of Nations this afternoon. They're not in the main MOTD studio or the second vitual studio but in another studio which I think was used for the Australian Open and Six Nations last winter.

Assume the Aussie Open highlights in the second studio.

iPlayer have labelled it as BBC3 rather than BBC2. Is this Jermaines first hosting gig for BBC Sport?

The tennis was in the second studio.
Think it is Jermaine's first live hosting gig for BBC Sport, can only think of MOTDx if that counts.

For no reason at all, in the second half a BBC Sport DOG has appeared in the bottom right corner of the screen; no DOG was there in the first half or any other AfCoN match I've seen this tournament. Also the BBC DOG is in the top left rather than top right where it has been for the rest of the tournament; it doesn't clash with the scoreboard at all (unlike when it usually does with the BBC's own scoreboard) so it was a little pointless to move it anyway.

I think every programme is assigned a home channel, so because the final is on BBC Three they have given it BBC Three branded pages online.

You see this if you click on a programme in the BBC Two schedule that was originally broadcast on BBC One for example.

Hugh Woozencroft hosting the Premiership Rugby on ITV tomorrow - not familiar with him at all.

Hosts the Kick Off show on talkSPORT and used to be a Sky Sports News presenter. Not the first time he has presented on ITV, he did a England Women's Qualifier a while ago.

Also a former BBC Sport bulletin presenter.

I was wondering earlier what graphics ITV will use tomorrow? Channel 5 used BT Sport's, esentially the world feed, whilst ITV's last Premiership highlights coverage used the 2006 graphics. Don't think the new football graphics are being rolled out into other sports by the looks of it so probably not those, though wouldn't rule it out.

TMD stated about his previous work for ITV (which was England v Austria women in November 2021 when Laura Woods was presenting Boxing for DAZN) and talkSPORT but he was also was the main host for talkSPORT 2 coverage of the Autumn Nations Series last year so not a stranger to Rugby Union presenting

CBS have adopted their new graphics (unveiled at Super Bowl LV almost a year ago) for the PGA Tour for their new season of coverage (shared with NBC/Golf Channel). This weeks Farmers Insurance Open is unusually running Wednesday-Saturday so as not to clash with CBS’ AFC Championship Game coverage on Sunday.

Will the tennis finish before BBC One's highlights start at 13:55??

The Sport Thread - Brekkie - 30-01-2022

The highlights editors will certainly be earning their pay today. Still going on now.

Not sure how the betting rights work for these things but been able to watch with commentary and full screen via Bet365.

Agree but has happened with other sports too as there has been a few times with England Test Cricket highlights that coverage has been starting at 7pm on BBC Two or Channel 5 and play has been going live up to 7.30pm.

For the Rugby, looks like a mixture of the new football graphics and BT Sport’s league table graphics being used for the wraparound. I can’t see anything other than BT Sport’s graphics being taken for the match though.
