The current form of titles was introduced in 2008 - and was then refreshed in 2013 with the more orchestral sounding music, and a HD re-rendering of the animations. The logo was updated when the channel's on-screen graphics changed to Reith.

As for the logo, it looks like a cheap parody of the old one. This is what happens when you take graphic design in house to cut costs – pay peanuts, get monkeys is the phrase that springs to mind.

It's a grower! I think a lot of the hate is because everyone is so used to the old one.
It all depends on how it's used. I'm quite excited in assuming it will significantly change presentation on BBC One and the news which is 13 years old!

It's already been used on BBC Select in America and BBC Kids in Australia. It's also been seen on a CBBC logo in their studio. Yeah, this is official - the launch may have been delayed by the pandemic, hence the new non-UK services ending up debuting it.
