I imagine that was because CNNI were scrambling to get their own coverage on the air, so domestic CNN handled the breaking news, before CNNI took over.
And I swear they've showed Max Foster's report on the Prince's life at least 5 times in the last hour and a half.
Becky and Quest were on CNN International at approx 12.30 UK time until 1.00.
Then they handed to CNN US at 1.00.
After CNN US went to their break, Becky returned on CNN International.

A shame that my first post is in relation to something this sad, but how does this compare to the coverage of the Queen Mother's death? I was nearly 10 at the time, so I only remember the still shot of BBC One's Ballet ident when they cut to a newsflash.

I think The BBC handled it really well - the development was clearly a surprise to Maxine Croxall who delivered the news with great humanity, clearly quite upset at the news herself. For many people today, the Queen and Duke have just always been around, it feels quite sad.
It looks like most broadcasters only found out around 12pm, looking at it - all of them were slow to update their websites, unlike the queen mother where it looked like it was known for some time before it was announced.

I may be wrong but it looks like Gill Sans on UKTV? Which was the BBC house style pre-Reith, and still remains in other commercial outlets such as World Service.

The Queen and Prince Philip have been the one constant in most people's lives for decades.
