The yellow wall looks like it’s main up of bottle of Encona chilli sauce. It could be my eyes, or it could be a product placement deal?

It definitely is Encona Hot Pepper Sauce, which considering its heritage within the Caribbean community in the UK is a perfect brand match for tomorrow.

The BIG Breakfast - Rob - 10-09-2021

A good start so far... no new titles, just an animation at the end of the opening sequence.

Phil Gayle's backdrop looks really nice.

The BIG Breakfast - Whataday - 10-09-2021

The house looks great! And when that BB News bed kicked in I melted!

The BIG Breakfast - Brekkie - 10-09-2021

The short intro worked quite well. So good to hear the news theme too.

The BIG Breakfast - Willz - 10-09-2021

Is it just me or does the CSO behind Phil Gayle look really poor?

The BIG Breakfast - Tony Lamezma - 10-09-2021

AJ & Mo are a great pairing, this is brilliant. Feels just as wonderfully chaotic as the old days.

The BIG Breakfast - Brekkie - 10-09-2021

People under 25 will be so confused.

AJ is shining on this. The house seems so small though.

The BIG Breakfast - RDJ - 10-09-2021

Quite impressed how they’ve transformed the house. It looks suitably bright yet up to date. AJ is doing really well and is a natural, Mo is good but struggling with the autocue etc.

Very impressed with the News set up and getting Phil Gayle back… even if the CSO is a bit dodgy and sounds like Phil is in a cardboard box.

The BIG Breakfast - Flux - 10-09-2021

It’s chaotic. The energy is manic. It’s really rough around the edges. It’s too loud. It’s worryingly unpredictable.

…Just as it should be!

I ❤️ Judi Love.

(I taught her everything about bed-based interviews).

The BIG Breakfast - all new Phil - 10-09-2021

This is great so far. Perfect hosts. No way is this just going to be a one-off.

The best thing is it doesn’t feel like tokenism. It feels like the show could and should look in 2021.

A few reasons for that. Firstly, the living room is actually a lot smaller due to the renovations on the house. Secondly, the house has always been small but that's a lot harder to hide in widescreen. Thirdly, and this just is a theory but it looks like rather than paint the walls they might have mounted some scenery flats to them, and painted those.

The BIG Breakfast - Sparky-dj - 10-09-2021

It’s good considering it’s a one off, the beauty of the original was that it was a team that were together for years and that builds the chem.

I think they could do with slowing down slightly and it would be spot on.

Well, that's true enough - I remember the Going Live studio seeming absolutely massive at the time, but watching clips back now it's clearly incredibly small, what with them being in TC7. Looking at it now, even the fact there's no overscan seems to make the difference, and in 4:3 the shots were a lot tighter.
