2021 Local Elections Coverage - Newsroom - 07-05-2021 Why on earth they’ve built a studio outdoors for the Scottish pres is baffling. Would it have cost that much more to have made a booth as seen, used at the wedding. The weather is so changeable at the moment, and especially in Scotland. It’ll be in use for a good three days. Rocks on paper won’t do Kirsty any good if/when torrential rain kicks in. 2021 Local Elections Coverage - Brekkie - 07-05-2021 Surely there is a studio or other space at Pacific Quay they could use. 2021 Local Elections Coverage - Newsroom - 07-05-2021 Brekkie post_id=11196 time=1620380795 user_id=976 Wrote:Surely there is a studio or other space at Pacific Quay they could use. Pacific Quay will be in full use from 1.30 for the rest of the day, same as Central Square. 2021 Local Elections Coverage - Keith - 07-05-2021 Rolling News post_id=11183 time=1620374759 user_id=1254 Wrote:Wouldn't it have made more sense to have morning coverage on BBC One then afternoon coverage on BBC Two?I imagine it's in part that BBC Two normally simulcasts the news channel in the mornings. Also with most counts not starting until this morning I expect that's why they've waited until the afternoon and Saturday to give it coverage on BBC One. 2021 Local Elections Coverage - scottishtv - 07-05-2021 There is a BBC building around the corner from the Scottish Parliament, but it's very bland and could be anywhere - as this previous capture shows: ![]() As there are a few broadcasters' tents in a row at Holyrood, I suspect the media and political parties agreed to base themselves at the front of the building so politicians would be made available in one place, and could be interviewed in turn (a bit like College Green). https://twitter.com/BBCScotlandNews/status/1390567626011783172 (Edited to add tweet from outside Holyrood) 2021 Local Elections Coverage - Gusan - 07-05-2021 Keith post_id=11198 time=1620381623 user_id=1115 Wrote:Rolling News post_id=11183 time=1620374759 user_id=1254 Wrote:Wouldn't it have made more sense to have morning coverage on BBC One then afternoon coverage on BBC Two?I imagine it's in part that BBC Two normally simulcasts the news channel in the mornings. Another aspect is that BBC Scotland can't opt out of BBC Two anymore, so the network has to take Scotland into account. The Scottish elections merit coverage on channel 1 anyway, but if the network put the English local elections on Two, then that's both channels In Scotland covering elections 2021 Local Elections Coverage - Frances - 07-05-2021 NC breaks away from election coverage for a vaccine briefing. 2021 Local Elections Coverage - william - 07-05-2021 IMHO, the outdoor presentation from Scotland, with sunlight, an interesting backdrop, general signs of life, is far preferable to being stuck in a dingy basement all day - having a daytime only results show rather rubs the difference in. I consider the lack of natural light one of NBH's biggest weaknesses - regardless of which floor you're on - for not only viewers but also people working there. And of course this studio is considerably more claustrophobic than Elstree. Also the Scottish parliament has frankly a far more beautiful location than Westminster. So even though the delay of the return feed Kirsty is clearly getting is awkward, visually I prefer having her in a split screen as much as possible as it adds some much needed daylight to the shot. 2021 Local Elections Coverage - joshuanesbit - 07-05-2021 Steve in Pudsey post_id=11171 time=1620367365 user_id=942 Wrote:joshuanesbit post_id=11152 time=1620339650 user_id=1556 Wrote:what does nick mean by B>E>network? does it mean shooting in B, using E gallery ... sending it to the Network? when you say network, does that mean BBC 1 or whatever channel as well as News Channel? 2021 Local Elections Coverage - JamesWorldNews - 07-05-2021 Professor Sir John Curtice appears to be in the Reporting Scotland Studio and using the kidney-shaped standing desk, albeit he’s seated. The close up backdrop behind him (a loop of NBH) is very distracting due to its proximity. 2021 Local Elections Coverage - scottishtv - 07-05-2021 I know BBC Scotland's Pacific Quay layout is pretty familiar to forumers these days, but here's the set up for Election 2021.
