France 2 used the touchscreen to call up (and drag/resize) a couple of live correspondents - not sure I've seen that before…

Sound has been a bit of a nightmare, earlier they lost audio from a couple of lives at once, and when they're not yelling each other, one of the politicians appears to be repeatedly tapping their pen against the desk mic, which is really distracting. Hopefully the floor manager can do something about it.

There is/was strike action at the NextRadioTV group (includes BFMTV). This comes almost exactly a year after the previous strike.

The 21h/22h hour was a recording of the previous hour while documentaries filled airtime until 6h when the second part of Premiere Edition seems to be on air as normal. The 4h30/6h edition did not air.

Franceinfo's 23h covered the strike by Europe 1 journalists over concerns that the editorial of the radio station after merging with CNEWS would see the station lose their impartial editorial agenda for CNEWS right-wing opinion talk instead. It lead into a report about GB News which the presenter compared with Fox News, followed by a debate on media plurality.

Le Parisien now reporting that it won't be Christophe Beaugrand co-presenting the 9h/12h slot on LCI (he preferred continuing on with his successful weekend show at the same time slot) and it will be Thomas Misrachi (ex-BFMTV) who will be taking his place. Misrachi presented the 9h/12h slot between 2019 and 2020 on BFMTV before being displaced by Bruce Toussaint.

Franceinfo started their holiday mode again, although I suspect it'll be until Monday 30th August as they've taken their les grandes vacances already.

French TV - London Lite - 29-06-2021

The soon to relaunch as another of BFM's local channels, Azur TV's local election coverage.

This is what hampers me of Franceinfo during the holiday periods. They drop all programming except news bulletins and the 23h news hour, do lots of filler and lots of repeats. In contrast, BFM TV, CNews and LCI have a sort of normal service, only with its main anchors away, being filled in by their jokers. This is not a problem for French TV news, however, as the French are very accustomed to this. However, what Franceinfo does is more compared to when a strike disrupts normal service, causing the minimum amount of content to be produced.

The graphics are already very well in line with those of BFM's regional channels. A side note: the Azur TV YouTube channel and social media have already renamed to the new channel name (BFM Nice-Côté d'Azur). BTW, this will be a massive upgrade for the channel, as its content, which is broadcast in the evening and repeated through the day (with some updates thru the day), will be replaced with presented morning and evening news blocks, as well as the Euronews-like newsreel for most of the day, which is constantly updated with new material, fortunately (this was also the case with TLM, Grand Lille TV and DICI TV before switching to the BFM Régionales model). However, all entertainment and service programming (including branded-content programmes) is dropped in favour of a news-based schedule.

How many BFM Local channels is that now then, and how well do they rate?

BFM Paris (the original local channel, covering the IDF region, launched in 2016 replacing the local opt-out of BFM Business, available on TNT and the boxes)
BFM Lyon (launched in 2019 after Altice bought Télé Lyon Métropole (TLM) from a consortium of local businessmen)
BFM Grand Lille and BFM Grand Littoral (launched in 2020 after Altice made a brand licensing contract with, and bought a 45% stake on Grand Lille TV and Grand Littoral TV, local information channels majority-owned by SECOM, the group behind Télé Melody, MyZenTV and Museum Channel, among others)
BFM DICI (launched early this year after Altice bought the entirety of local media group DICI, which has a network of two TV channels covering the South Alps and Provence, as well as a local radio station in the city of Gap (North Alps).
And the new BFM Nice-Côté d'Azur, which launches on Monday July 4th, alongside BFM Marseille-Provence and BFM Toulon, both satellite stations to Azur TV in Nice.

All services are available thru the newly launched RMC BFM Play service, which no one has made announcement of. It launched on June 24 as an AVOD service only available within the French territory (and the European Union) using the Molotov UI and technical interface. It features most of the content of all RMC and BFM-branded channels, including exclusive content. It is available as a web service and a Android and Apple app for all their devices.
