Sometimes it's ten on the dot, sometimes a couple pf minutes later and sometimes scheduled later. Mary made a point the other day when signing of by saying they'd be back with "News at Ten... at Ten"

It's probably as often exactly at 10 as it isn't nowadays and the new schedule seems to have ad breaks scheduled to enable that more often than not. Hopefully they stick to hour long shows on Fridays once Grantchester finishes rather than push it back to 10.50.

Is there any reason it wouldn't be on at 10pm? Or just as it's normally slightly after 10pm?

Rare namecheck of the national newscaster on the ident into News at Ten.

ITV News: March 2022 onwards - Brekkie - 31-03-2022

It is very noticeable now how they barely vary the continuity announcement into the news programming.

ITV News: March 2022 onwards - XIII - 01-04-2022

Out of interest, do they namecheck for regional news? I know they do for ITV London when Charlene, Lucrezia or Duncan are presenting but not when anyone else is presenting.

Only when the 'A-team' are presenting, and at least on Tyne Tees it's been the exact same pre-recorded announcement since Pam left.

"Now all the latest ITV News in the Tyne Tees region with Ian Payne and Amy Lea".
Some of the CAs push the boat out and say "with Amy Lea and Ian Payne", though Wink
(Just replace 'Amy Lea' with 'Pam Royle' and you've got the announcement from before she left)

Indeed. If either/both of the "A" anchor duo in a given region is/are absent, no names are mentioned in the CA.

West Country is a slight exception. The "A" duo are Kylie Pentelow and Jonty Messer, so there was originally only a name-check CA for that pairing. However...

There was a period when Kylie Pentelow was on secondment to ITV News Cymru Wales (covering maternity leave or something?) for several months, with Eli-Louise Wringe being temporarily elevated from "B" to "A" status until Kylie's return. Network announcer CAs name-checking Jonty & Eli-Louise were in use during that period.

To this day, we therefore get CAs with name-checks on both Jonty & Kylie days and on Jonty & Eli-Louise days. But not for any other presenter combinations.

Kylie appears to be pregnant currently, so presumably will be on maternity leave in the near future. If Eli-Louise is to be the temporary "A" anchor again, then West Country don't even need the network CAs to bother recording anything new for them!

Granada did start name checking the B-team but don't know if they still do.

Do most regions just have the B-team on Fridays or like Granada do they stagger it so the A-team only host Tue-Thu, with one off Fridays and one on Mondays?

ITV News: March 2022 onwards - Andrew - 02-04-2022

In the Calendar region, when Christine Talbot was still around they only ever name checked Christine and Duncan as the A team but since she left, then they now name check the presenters all the time, regardless of whether it’s the A team, B team or any combination of A or B.

It’s always amusing when they use an American reporter on a story to see how overly familiar they are.

The one from CNN tonight reporting on the latest in the Will Smith story starting her live with “Hey Gamal!”

ITV News: March 2022 onwards - Ballyboy - 02-04-2022

I’m just curious. Does any regional news programme call their correspondents by just their first name?.

I have seen presenters on ITV London refer to Sally Williams by her first name whenever she does a report.

You can just tell they’re holding their tongue at the end of the report to avoid going “Live from Los Angeles, this is Camila Bernal for ITV News. Back to you Gamal”.

Don’t think he will be!

I mean, if he was somehow presenting both, I'd be very impressed.
