Looks like amateur hour at the moment with people walking in front of the cameras to place the FA Cup and poor camera angles.
Saying all that I'm sure the original plans have gone out the window with wet equipment and staff! They have made light of it and kind of highlights the 'beauty of the cup'.

Update: the weather gods must be fans of this forum as by the end of half time both umbrellas have been taken down due to the wind!

Now if the downlink site was also suffering bad weather conditions that could have been a factor. I’ve seen the signal on the spectrum analyser bounce about as our motorised 3m and 4m dishes are affected by heavy winds. Very occasionally a torrential downpour will be enough to wipe out a good margin even on a dish that size (fixed or motorised).
It was interesting that it was a dual uplink truck - possibly one used for the European Tour golf and big royal events. (Although both dishes looked like they were pointing at the same satellite, or at least two pretty close together.)
Wondering if this was used because there isn’t fibre available at the ground. Bonded cellular might not have been an option as a backup either, even with the well located cell tower!

The usual BBC setup for a live FA Cup game would be three feeds (Main, Backup and World) and a "reverse" for receiving content. If fiber isn't available at a ground (usually the case for grounds below League 1), then this would be done using two SNGs pointed at different satellites.
Whilst cellular links are acceptable for smaller jobs like single camera highlights and news reporting, they would never be used for a job like this.

Watching the coverage of the Rochdale v Plymouth match on ITV and Ian Wright has left the coverage due to a family bereavement as said by Mark Pougatch during the Half Time break. Grant Holt is the other pundit being used by ITV today.

Bit of an odd incident today as BBC Two Wales opted out of the live snooker at 14:30 to show a full match replay of the Glasgow v. Dragons rugby from last night. Not sure why BBC Wales are showing a dealyed match this week anyway (S4C usually show replays of the Welsh URC matches not shown live FTA) but presume it may have something to do with the Cardiff/Scarlets situation and them losing matches they were due to show. Bit odd to opt out of live sport for pre-recorded sport as well.

Haven't got a link, but as I work in a shop that sells newspapers, I saw in the business section of the Sunday Telegraph today, that Discovery could be a possible contender to buy BT Sport. Discovery already owns Eurosport, so be interesting to see what happens if such a deal went through.

I presume 4-2 ITV/BBC split in term of televised picks again?
The draw really does lose something being at an empty studio at Wembley rather than at a ground or clubhouse with a passionate audience as it was usually done under the previous contract.

The BBC lead the push notification with the draw with Manchester United v Aston Villa and West Ham v Leeds so Perhaps a clue as to what their first choices are.

The listings said they were doing it after the match as well, so caught me out.
I assume it'll be six matches across the two broadcasters - last year the BBC seemed to have 2 some rounds and 3 in others. Of course everything over the last couple of years has been skewed by covid disruption and the associated disruption to replays as well which saw some broadcast matches move around.
IIRC in the BBC/BT deal first pick alternated so not sure who gets first pick for Round 3 here. Man Utd very rarely don't get picked for an FA Cup match and vs Villa gives them the Steve Gerrard angle, so no doubt it'll be picked - history suggests the BBC might go for a potential giant killing with a Prem team away at a a smaller club so I think first choice or not the United game will probably end up on ITV.
