Holby City to end - LiamFitz28 - 28-07-2021 Reports at the time were stating the BBC is trying to create a soap ''in the north'', which would rival Corrie. I'm sorry, but if I was the Beeb, I wouldn't bother trying. Nothing they create will ever topple Corrie. Holby City shouldn't be ending to move departments ouside of London. It's stupid. Holby City should really be being put out to tender to other broadcasters to pick up. Losing that much talent and creativity is a waste. I expect her return was always part of the plan. It seems too much of a lacklustre exit to be the end. Holby City should really be being put out to tender to other broadcasters to pick up. Losing that much talent and creativity is a waste. That was assumption and tabloid embellishment based on this one statement from the BBC: Quote:Funds will be invested in two new long-running network drama series over the next three years - one from the North of England and one from one of the Nations So yes, the BBC are developing two new drama series which they hope will be long running, and yes, one will be based in the North of England. It's a huge step to claim they're trying to topple Corrie when we know nothing about the show, when it will air, how long the commission will be or anything else. The tabloids just took a grain of info and ran with it. I also think the likelihood of Holby City being picked up by another broadcaster is zero. With Casualty still airing on the BBC and showing no signs of going anywhere, I doubt anyone else wants to invest in the sister show. Holby City to end - XIII - 28-07-2021 I don't think the other broadcasters would want Holby City given as mentioned that Casualty is still ongoing but also would they really want a show that wasn't rating great in the last few years. Holby City to end - London Lite - 28-07-2021 Last night's episode was a small boost to the show. Rosie Marcel always gives an excellent performance as Jac Naylor which should steer it into the final few months, but it really does feel like it's over with the current plot giving Jac the chance to save the hospital or send it into obscurity. Davood Ghadami (Kush in EastEnders) made his debut yesterday and I think he would have made an excellent long term character, but hey ho. As anyone who saw the ITV3 repeats can say, that storyline ended up being a complete mess as a result of Claire King's return. It was quite clear they'd had last minute rewrites and come up with the idea that the woman found in the quarry was someone "paid" to immitate Kim. Holby City to end - adamiow - 12-11-2021 Given the news that Doctor Who is moving to Wolf Studios, this is going to free up plenty of space at Roath Lock, so I wonder if it will be home to the second of the Holby City replacements to go alongside Waterloo Road. If it is, it is a bit of a diss to Holby City, as obviously they could have moved the show there to keep it going. Worth noting also that it would also be a big project to build the Holby building/exterior at Roath Lock (although they did use what looks like the old Llanishen tax offices for the 'Holby roof' scenes in Casualty last week, but that's set to be knocked down.)
