In 2019 they aired qualifying highlights from 00:40-02:10 and the race the next night at 23:00-01:00. With the race and qualifying an hour later this time I think a sensible call to air the qualifying this morning instead (from 08:30-09:30) and cut back the late night highlights, although suspect most would record that anyway. Whether it's Sky having a bit of common sense or perhaps that 40% applying across the year rather than each individual show it seems the sensible move.

You've made some valid & interesting points, but I'd come at this from the other angle. As it happens, the V6 is my only way of accessing Prime, apart from bodging a laptop with an HDMI output. Which brings me neatly onto....
Linear broadcast channels don't need apps or have these issues, they just work - and rights holders should be bearing them in mind when awarding rights to online-only platforms. My beef is therefore with the 6N for agreeing to this contract without some linear backup - even if just highlights. In past years I've followed the autumn series heavily, including going to a few matches. This year, not so.
I have no such issues with other streaming/VoD platforms, only with rugby via AZPV.

ITV must be able to dictate the draw times now with the draw after tonights game. When BT Sport had control of the draw they still seemed to fit the early rounds at least into the 7pm hour which the BBC favoured.
TBH I'm surprised ITV didn't have the draw yesterday after their match on the main channel. Indeed might this be the first FA Cup draw ever since they've been regularly televised not to be on the main terrestrial channels?

No, there was one a few seasons ago on BBC News. In terms of availability doing it on ITV4 is no different to doing it on BBC2, and I doubt there's much difference ratings-wise between ITV weekend daytime and ITV4 primetime. The second round draw is probably the least interesting in the competition proper anyway.
One thing I did miss in the first round draw is that the Beeb would do their draw programmes from a non-league ground and assemble various giant-killers, which were fascinating programmes, expertly marshalled by Mark Chapman, and they even did them last season when the draws were hosted by BT and you could forgive them for doing the bare minimum, but they still did them. But the first round draw on ITV was done from Wembley with just a brief pre-recorded package from one of the games in the qualifying round, so a bit of a shame to lose the old way of doing it, if only for this season.

I'm happy to predict that this could well be like the Ultimate Tennis Challenge last year that started on its own streaming service but eventually ended up on any channel that wanted it. For previous seasons, the broadcast product wasn't the best (the American comms were a little over excited) and the use of a 25 m rather than 50 m dilutes it as a top class swimming event; though it is probably the only notable swimming event outside of the major championships.
I don't want to say "I told you so" but...

This is sad news. My main memories of him are from Match of the Day, and specifically doing the round-up. It's a bit of a shame we don't have that anymore, I know it's because each game gets fuller coverage these days, but it added a nice change of pace to the programme and as Paul Armstrong says in his book, Gerald was wonderful at finding the right words to summarise a match into two minutes.
There are two I always remember are I think from the early rounds of the FA Cup, there was one where a team had won despite missing two penalties and he rounded off the report with "Team X 1 Team Y 0 - but lads, everyone in on Monday for penalty practice!". The other one was where he started it by saying "Time now for another edition of You Are The Ref. Team X clear the danger here... but did you spot the backpass?". Used to love things like that.
