Hazel Irvine has mentioned at the start of tonight's coverage that World Number 1 Judd Trump has just begun his snooker commentary debut with Alan McManus.

He was on this afternoon doing the studio analysis alongside Steve Davis. Good to see some of the current players getting involved as well, Jack Lisowski has been commentating and providing punditry all week as well and freshens up the BBC coverage.

It's long been the case in snooker that a handful of players will join the television team once they're knocked out. I think Ronnie O'Sullivan works for Eurosport.

Manchester United v. Liverpool this afternoon delayed due to fan protests inside and outside the stadium. Sky Sports live coverage are unusually on-site today.

It was great to see a full crowd come back for the World Snooker Championship Final at the Crucible tonight. The final session of the World Snooker Championship final also had it's own titles & end credits tonight instead of the usual BBC Sport titles at the beginning of it's coverage. The BBC Sport logo was seen at the end of tonight's credits.

No surprise that the IPL cricket has been suspended, due to the covid 19 situation in India. Sky sports cricket showing repeats of old matches instead.

Speaking of Snooker, Colin Murray has quit Eurosport Snooker coverage, will stay with Discovery for EFL on Quest and continue with his BBC Radio 5 Live late night show & fighting talk. Colin only hosted the Triple Crown tournaments which are also shown on the BBC and Andy Goldstein hosted the English, Scottish, Welsh & Northern Ireland Open which are simulcast on Quest so I would expect him to take over unless he wants to prioritise his talksport work and they add another presenter.

On the tournament and a rare positive message for BBC Sport it seems but I thought their coverage was very enjoyable and great to add new voices such as Judd Trump, Joe Perry and Jack Lisowski. I think the standouts are still Stephen Hendry & Alan McManus for commentary and punditry. Also while it was great to see Hazel Irvine back, Radzi Chinyanganya and Seema Jaswal are improving all the time so well done to BBC Sport as I often find their snooker coverage is unfairly slated the last few years and it seems the final got the highest ratings for many a year with a 4 million peak.

They're showing live county cricket in it's place later in the week.

A rare chance to see the rugby union version of the current Sky Sports graphics. Not sure if it’s the first time they’ve appeared.
