RE: Wimbledon 2022 - GraemeT - 29-06-2022 Emma R is out so don’t worry there RE: Wimbledon 2022 - Brekkie - 29-06-2022 Well Raducanu is already gone, based on tonight even if Murray wins he won't go too much further and having two matches on Centre rather than three usually means they're done by early evening unless they have a couple of marathon men semi finals. P.S. Not seen the ratings for last night but the ratings for Monday certainly justified the decision to put it on BBC1. RE: Wimbledon 2022 - telebox2001 - 29-06-2022 Looks like Sewing Bee might a goner... As predicted, Sewing Bee - DENIED! RE: Wimbledon 2022 - Brekkie - 29-06-2022 And it's the final too and as the EPG hasn't been updated you can't even reliably record it (unless setting manually). Such a poor way to treat one of their most popular shows. RE: Wimbledon 2022 - RhysJR - 29-06-2022 Breaking: Clare Balding exists! Doing a sit down interview with Emma Raducanu whilst the roof is closing RE: Wimbledon 2022 - telebox2001 - 29-06-2022 Yep, so if you've recorded it you now have a graphic telling you it's been dumped on Two. There was a natural break in play they could have used to shift it over, avoiding this awkward filling whilst the roof goes on. Just complete lack of foresight. They really should block out the 7-10pm for tennis on BBC One and just bump everything else to BBC Two. Have a repeat post news for TAW. RE: Wimbledon 2022 - Andrew - 29-06-2022 You need to down a shot (of Pimms) every time Sue says either ‘BBC One’ or ‘BBC Two’ during the Wimbledon fortnight. Bonus points if she refers to the channel without the ‘BBC’ prefix. Two shots if she refers to ‘reaching the end of our transmission’ RE: Wimbledon 2022 - RhysJR - 29-06-2022 For context, from what I can gather, last year in the first six days Today at Wimbledon failed to air three times. The same number of shows were cancelled in 2019, but every episode aired in 2018. In 2017 it also aired on every day of the first six days, but was shortenned on two occasions. I don't think they usually massively mess up the BBC One primetime schedule in the first week do they? RE: Wimbledon 2022 - Brekkie - 29-06-2022 Well usually it's on BBC2 and they start the switching to BBC1 for the third round. The results this year somewhat justify doing it from Round 1 to get their money out of Murray but the lack of foresight in planning other programmes is terrible. RE: Wimbledon 2022 - telebox2001 - 29-06-2022 I mean given events this week surely the ideal place to bump the tennis is... BBC Scotland! (This is joke before I get piled on!) Also that the ratings for live sport have held up but the ratings for normal programming have dropped like a stone since the pandemic and since the BBC started their iPlayer first strategy, therefore even all foreign Wimbledon matches rate better then the run of the mill linear schedules they are displacing RE: Wimbledon 2022 - no1fanofthepals - 29-06-2022 Well, Andy Murray has just been knocked out. RE: Wimbledon 2022 - telebox2001 - 29-06-2022 And now game over, meaning BBC One have to fill for 30 minutes up to the Ten. What a total and utter mess. I hope they will repeat Sewing Bee now as many will have missed it. Once iPlayer has 50fps, 1080p and 5.1 support it might be worthy of being "first." RE: Wimbledon 2022 - Andrew - 29-06-2022 I wonder what they will dig out now - Would I Lie to You?, I predict |
