The theme this year is GAMESHOW and the overall colour this year is BLACK and lots of it. The walls are covered in silver BB eye logos. The floor inside and outside the house is a silver grid pattern. The stairs have been straighted rather than a slight curve at the bottom. The right wall features "stadium lights" and the main BB logo over the back door has a dollar symbol in the middle with a series of arrows pointing upward. The kitchen features 3 walls of white light boxes. Very simple and effective in such a dark environment. The light "sculpture from BBCAN8 and BBCAN9 remains but with an additional feature hanging down in the middle. THe nomination room is dark and moodily lit with a podium covered in questions marks and a mysterious purple phone in the center.

It looks good, but it also looks awful. Not completely convinced that works as a BB house for three months, but I guess the wise thing to do is reserve judgement until we see more. Where would the fun in that be though?

LOL. But this is typical BBCAN aint it?. Over the top house designs and themes. And Im here for it and I love it. And its funny, Im feedswatcher... all day and I dont mind the studio-type house. After three months I dont notice it as much, even though its less house more studio than the US house. Actually I prefer it over a old, dirty, cramped house, junky confusing mess (BBUS Im looking at you). Its like BBCAN took BBUK and BBAU and cranked it up to 10 and I love it. Cant wait watch.

The theme of new Big Brother is GAME SHOW set. Executive Producer and Host Arisa Cox Said the new house was meant to evoke the sets of the new sparkly floor game shows as well as hints of the classic games shows we all love. Hence you see a series of fake doors all over the house. its very over the top but somehow BBCAN always seems to change the house enough so it feels fresh and sparkly.

Thanks for the pics. Still have a love/hate relationship with it - think it looks brilliant but horrendous at the same time. Usually I like the idea of houses that are a bit full on for the housemates and this is very impressive but through no fault of their own it's a bit neon cocktail when what we need is a warming mug of cocoa.

I really see those doors playing a part of the game somehow. Like a mystery room that hold a secret power. And there is not way that huge spinning wheel in the middle of living room isnt going to play a role somehow. I cant wait for tommorrow. BBUK did the doors thing years ago but in the end they were nothing more than decor.

I remember it. But you know BBCAN loves a secret room. THere is a famous American game show called Lets Make a Deal where the host asks the contests : Do you want keep your winnings or bet it and pick whats behind door #1, door #2 or door #3"
And one of doors has a good prize behind and one could be something like a lifetime supply of chicken soup. It will be interesting to see if they have a use and not just decorative.

Ultimately though the real doors will be in the exact places they've always been.

On the one hand BB Canada have changed their opening every year, but on the other it has had the same format since series 1. Wish they'd restore the full titles though.

The intros every year are epic and this year was no exception and it looks like the wall of doors are going to play a part. Looks like a secret door next to the diary room door. (The drone shot thru the house out to the backyard. Wow. I didnt realize that was a videowall around the backdoor. Wow) I cant wait.
