That looks pretty good. BTW, so is BBC Kids supposed to be a rebrand of BBC Kids? If it is, that may interfere with the also kid-friendly CBBC a little bit.

It's the name of an online channel they run for children in Australia.
Controversial opinion. I quite like this “new” logo. That said, if I was updating it myself, I’d put the letters in italics. Don’t @ me.

Quite like what mdta has done there with the logos, that looks very good :-)

I might ruffle a few feathers, however I actually wouldn't mind the 2nd BBC logo in Reith, it'll be like an evolution of the masterbrand.

I think it looks okay. The trouble with making a relatively subtle change like that though, is a lot of uninitiated people wouldn’t notice the difference, and the old version would continue to get used all over the place.

Look how often the previous BBC One and Two logos cropped up for years after they last changed. I’m sure there was a national newspaper still using the Gill BBC One logo in its TV listings until recently.

Also a subtle change to the master logo, regardless of whether it is an improvement or not, is definitely not going to be justifiable on cost grounds for an organisation such as the BBC - especially in its current financial position. If I was a BBC employee who'd just been sacked due to budget cuts, I'd be pretty ****ed off if I saw that same organisation spend hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of pounds replacing its logo with a slightly different, but worse, version of the same logo.

Could not agree more. It's difficult enough in the (increasingly) complex web of post-production to get things tied up, so the idea of throwing in a *NEW_Master_BBC_Do_Not_Use_Old_File_14* type idea just proves to be a difficult concept.

Quite aside from anything else, I appreciate that Reith is shiny and lovely (genuinely) but I come back to the old adage about the logo: if it ain't broke, don't fix it...
I find Reith Sans a bit gross to be honest, while I love the serif version, the sans font has always felt really really dated from the get go. I feel like if they’re going to do a main logo change, go all out with it and bring something new and modern (and yet importantly timeless) to the table. This is just hypothetically wasting money for a minor change that doesn’t make it look any more fresh or aesthetically pleasing and it’s just going to get lost with the old logo.
(wasn't suggesting it should change btw, only hypothetically if it did then it wouldn't look as bad. I agree it would be a waste of money replacing all the corporate branding and signage, especially in this climate)
I don't think the cbeebies logo isn't gonna have a change.

I do feel like Reith would work better in italics and slanted boxes, because it just looks weird in the current logo

The Sun uses the correct BBC One logo, but uses the purple BBC Two one that was out of date 15 years ago! At Christmas, they had a special previews pullout, and that used a logo with two in lower case - which turned out to be a mock from TV Forum.

Remember the whole reason why the slant was ditched was legibility, especially when being reduced in size and dealing with digital formats

a) Yeah, I know that, I'm just stating what I feel is better aesthetically.
b) Uhhhhh.... that's the wrong quote...
