What I mean is; if it and The Chase are chugging along nicely then fine but what happens when rating start to drop off, and they edge closer to the metaphorical chopping block? How would they replace them - endless repeats (and forget its existence), another gameshow or something completely different?

I suppose they could to a point, however it does clearly state the recording date quite prominently within the show - after a while, people are going to get suspicious. It's a bit easier with Flog It.

I feel like part of the problem with these (what I call) "current affairs comedies" is that the main news agenda has remained largely the same for at least half a decade now. There's only so many jokes you can make about Brexit/BoJo before you begin to run out of ideas... even Trump is still mentioned from time to time.
This is why I feel comedies such as Just A Minute, The Museum of Curiosity, ISIHAC and The Unbelievable Truth work so well, as they aren't particularly tied down to current events. Having said that, I noticed some of the newer panellists in the few latest series of ISIHAC tried to politicise the games, although the more established members of the panel steered it back.
I've been listening back to some old recordings of ISIHAC and Just a Minute on YouTube, and audio quality aside, it's relatively difficult to deduce a time period but still incredibly amusing. What I see as a sign of a good comedy.

UK Masterchef is boring- I've lived in the states and watched that version, and it's so much better-formatted. Lots of faux drama but that's just American TV for you. I wonder would Gordon Ramsay freshen up Masterchef if he were to do it in the UK?
Changing Rooms I never liked- I didn't get the appeal then and still don't now- it was such a random show to bring back. C4 revivals never last too long though anyway. Streetmate with Scarlett Moffatt lasted, what, 3 weeks? And I thought she was more natural at that particular format than Davina.
Moneyball and Sitting on a Fortune are terrible formats, with stunt-casted hosts to try to draw the viewers in- trouble is the dull formats. Shame as Lineker in particular is very natural as host, just let down by his format that I call Row Row Row Your Boat.
I liked the Masked Dancer but I think they should have it be occasional one-off specials rather than a full series.
Royal documentaries bore the life out of me- I have respect for our monarchy and everything, I personally wouldn't want it abolished, but whenever they do a documentary, it's never actually very interesting...
I like the Complaints Department show, but I feel it's a little too youth-orientated- perhaps that's the idea though? To get younger viewers interested in Points of View/Right To Reply type shows by giving them a comedy spin?
Who Do You Think You Are is fine- I love genealogy if I've spelled that right- if I was famous face, I'd do it in a heartbeat- I feel there's a lot of my family I haven't learnt enough about. And yes, Silent Witness has dragged on for too long now- the early series were great but now it's just a load of recycled storylines- it feels too much like a soap than an eventful period drama.
And I've never watched Murder Island so can't comment- is it a drama thing or reality?
Murder island was on after bake off it was reality tv meets drama like a cluedo of clues find who did the murder what happened it sounded good in adverts but was just drawn out bore !!!
Rather have that classic cluedo gameshow version back ?

Actually sounded as though would be more appealing than I can see your voice but wasn't great Shame for Vernon return to tv he got such a poor format! With Britains got talent set to return next year game of talents must be on the axe list??

Generally I don't really care if a programme I don't like is still on TV or not - I'll just not watch it - but having said that I'd be happy for I'm a Celebrity to be axed. I've no idea how it's still allowed given the way they treat animals on there (and I also don't know why anyone would want to watch it either way). And yes, I now realise I haven't really helped with keeping this thread light.
I don't think anyone on here is being overly serious but 'which shows do you want axed' doesn't really belong on TVLive Forum, it's more the domain of Digital Spy and telling people they should lighten up isn't good forum etiquette.

I get the impression from your posting style and the presence of six million exclamation marks, emojis and other punctuation marks in places they don't actually belong that you probably aren't very old. That's fine. Some of us have been here literally two decades and so are probably older than you (in terms of time spent on the forums) and we know how this place rocks. And it doesn't involve being stingy with periods/full stops.
