Fame was an American musical drama series, based on the 1980 movie, also called Fame. It originally ran from 1982-87 and was broadcast on BBC1 in the UK, and was actually part of the schedule on the launch night of the COW!

At least they're showing it in the proper aspect ratio, unlike how they show music videos.

Funny you mention that… The 30 seconds or so I saw of it this morning it was jumping between aspect ratios.

Cheap as chips Freeview music channels at their best. It's bad enough that That's TV Gold is showing Kenny Everett at a worse PQ than it was in analogue!

Showing things in their proper aspect ratio and properly interlaced just doesn't seem to be important any more...

That's TV Gold have an interesting approach to compliance edits, Elvis Costello performing Oliver's Army on the Everett show had a word cut out and they just jump cut it, no attempt to keep the rhythm of the song.
Not even sure that the edit was necessary with the context of the song and what it was actually referring to, though probably saves complaints from those who don't get the context.
