BBC Scotland (the division) will probably end up having a different logo to the one we now see for BBC Scotland (the channel).
I would imagine there is a new updated style/usage guide. I post the image from the initial introduction of Reith, to illustrate the hierarchy of branding.
Honestly, if ever one image demonstrated the need for a rethink on the branding, that is it.
There's always a mindset in larger organisations that every department/sub-brand needs its own exciting, interesting logo. It's madness because all the end user really cares about is the parent brand in most cases. There's no need to have a 'One' logo that competes with the main BBC logo.
Proper, clever sub-branding systems are so underrated in my view.

They’ve started rolling out as of this week and it couldn’t be more different, a lot of consistency once this rollout has finished over the coming year - that screenshot, what a mess!

Would be nice to see this, if only it would be available on the website as a PDF

This looks absolutely terrible - nothing has a flow to it at all and it’s completely confusing, it really does feel like they spin a wheel to randomly decide how to align things…
I really liked the idea of the logo acting as a frame for the idents and promos but the execution is clearly lacking a lot - i’m not going to be shocked if some months down the line they make adjustments to the branding system or just align the logo in the traditional stacked style just to make things easier. Even if it’s just for the promos and they just have it animated into the typical style of logo and then separate it at the idents it would probably be nicer than this.
This may be a ridiculous question, but BBC Scotland has started up at 2pm to air Getting Hitched Asian Style and then after it will air Inside The Zoo, only to close down again at 4pm and then starting up again at 7pm to air the evening's programs....why is this? Is it because of the football?

It’s because they’re signed programmes. They normally air in the afternoon.

I see, thank you Ghost but at this point why don't they air them from 5pm-7pm, it would make much more sense
Couldn't see it on BARB which I thought was strange but an episode of Still Game was skipped on Friday 15th October, presumably because one of the characters mentions that they would attack someone with a knife.

Maybe it’s just me, but I like it; maybe they would update the trailer endboards a little, but I really do like the framing look.
Scotland's Best Dog starts tomorrow - a new series for the channel.
There will be a pre-recorded ident going into it, with a few barks along the way.
Ah, so it's about canines and not a TV spin-off of the recent discussion about the logos in the top corner of the screen.

Sometimes, capitalisation saves lives.
