If Virgin are labelling BBC Two "London", it's the network version that is used in England and Scotland.

Difficult to come up with a short name that covers England and Scotland but not Wales or Northern Ireland.
London however, isn't the ideal one at all, even National would be better?

I was about to say isn't there a BBC2 Scotland... then I remembered there isn't because BBC Scotland replaced it.

It’s not labelled like that on Virgin, it’s just called “BBC TWO HD”. It may have been previously “BBC2 Eng”.

BBC 2 Untitled.bmp would confuse many viewers, including me.

It is labelled BBC TWO HD (EPG Name: BBC2 HD), I added "London" to highlight which version is being networked. As you say it is the version used in England and Scotland. Virgin hasn't made the BBC Two HD "nations" versions for Wales and NI available across the network, they are only available in Welsh and NI coverage areas. Sorry for any confusion.

I guess the Wales and NI versions of BBC2 just don't have enough schedule variation for them to consider it to be worth it.

The previous SD version was labelled BBC TWO (for the Service Name & the EPG Name)

True but, if that is the reason, why make the Eng/Sco version available to viewers in Wales & NI? The variations are still limited.

Virgin has freed some space on regional transport streams by removing the regional versions of the channels now carried on 861-865. The channel 101 & 102 versions point to the same video / audio streams as the networked channels.

Very disappointing to see the BBC dragging their feet with the Satellite rollout of the BBC ONE HD Regions. This will now likely affect us in Northern Ireland now with getting BBC Two NI in HD on satellite.

To be fair, we don't know if it's just one platform that's proving tricky. It could be that satellite is still on track and it's Freeview which has been delayed. Since Freeview seems to be the most complex to get up and running, as they need to redesign the muxes (on satellite they 'only' need to buy additional transponder space, but the technical foundations are basically already there, IIRC - could be wrong).
