TODAY is currently broadcasting from upstairs of Studio 1A, with the main studio set to get a 'makeover'. They've been upstairs for over a week now, so they must be some pretty significant changes coming. Looking forward to seeing it !

NBC News Now was showing MSNBC's coverage of hurricane Ida last night. I haven't seen them do that before, but I guess it's their only option for a major breaking story at the weekend when NBC News Now isn't staffed and there's no network news special.
Nice to have an HD feed of MSNBC in the UK, even if only temporarily - the last time I saw one was on election night in November.

The article basically says it isn't clear what will actually happen, beyond she will work on broader projects than merely her MSNBC show. It wouldn't surprise me at all if she moved to a 4-day working week with much more time off across the year than previously, rather than completely stepping back from her weekday show. It's much harder to imagine her keeping her profile – and MSNBC benefiting the same – from a weekly show.
Tom Llamas anchoring NBC Nightly News for the first time in studio on 31st August substituting Lester Holt
while in vacation. He was leaved ABC News on January this year. He previously anchoring the NBC's programme for the first ever on 30th August but on-field location.

Looks like Llamas becoming a Lester "heir-apparent" kinda like Brian Williams becoming Brokaw's subtituted anchor when he first anchoring Nightly News in July 1993 before becoming a Saturday anchor of that programme in August that year and lasted until July 1999.

I wouldn't jump to those conclusions after he's presented just two shows.

Maybe, but it was reported that a lack of permanent opportunities to anchor any of ABC's main programmes was a likely factor in Tom's decision to move. The implication is clearly that it may be a different story at NBC.

Tom Llamas is slated to anchor a nightly 7 p.m. newscast on NBC News Now starting later this month. Hallie Jackson and Joshua Johnson are also getting evening shows on there. From what I understand, NBC News Now's morning block does very well, but viewership tapers off later on.
Llamas has also filled in recently as a main co-host on Today's 7am-9am programme, and has done quite a lot of reporting for both programmes. I suspect he'll get used quite frequently across NBC News' platforms and programmes.

Update on this: some insiders told NewscastStudio that the updates to Studio 1A debut Tuesday. No word on the MSNBC new set yet.

That makes sense. If one of your competitors is relaunching, you want to be at your best and probably don't want to be on a temporary set.
I know that, when Good Morning Britain launched, BBC Breakfast put extra effort into that week's programmes.
It will be interesting to see what they do with the space previously occupied by the 'Orange Room'. When the Orange Room stopped being used, they simply covered it with another video wall (previously used for election coverage), but I think Studio 1A has got enough video screens already. Must be something more creative they can do with that space. I'd expect a desk change considering its been in use since 2015, and I'll also be interested to see if they continue using the desk as a 'roundtable' as they currently do.
Well, Today's current set, dominated by screens and newswalls is a letdown compared to previous looks. Hope they bring back some warmth and furniture.
