In My Opinion, it's a shame that ITV shut down the Studios in Leeds instead of choosing to rebuild Refurbish them. I feel like it would be a good choice to renovate them and make some more shows from Leeds.
I'm also Surprised that Leeds doesn't really have any big TV Studio Facilities Since the first ever Moving Pictures were filmed in Leeds

Birmingham produce plenty of drama still within BBC Drama Village - Doctors, Father Brown and Shakespeare and Hathaway currently - and The Gadget Show films at Birmingham City University's Curzon Street Studios.

As someone in the North East wanting to get into the media I've accepted that I'll sadly probably have to move elsewhere for work. That's what this campaign is about solving. It's not trying to take everything from London but how many sectors are so heavily concentrated in the capital? Even banking and financial sectors have more bases around the UK than the media.
I think it’s a fairly old fashioned view to automatically think that the way to solve this would be for either ITV or the BBC to have a studio complex to make studio based programmes in the region.
Large amounts of programming is made by indies these days that wasn’t as much the case in those old regional ITV days, also large amounts of programming isn’t made in a studio. In the case of drama, which is where Ant and Dec started out, this is even more the case. There is nothing stopping anyone making a drama set on Tyneside, and indeed there is a very popular one in Vera.
If you are making studio programming in the regions it doesn’t automatically mean it generates buzz and a feeling of having a real chance of working in TV. Look at Steph’s Packed Lunch. It’s hardly making the same waves as The Word being filmed in Newcastle!

But that's true globally rather than exclusive to London where sectors tend to be based in the city with the largest population.

ITV completely refitted Yorkshire TV in Kirkstall Road as a large production centre for Emmerdale, it’s still there. There are large independent studios in Leeds aswell, granted not rigged as multi-camera but there is lots of production still in Leeds.
Would be interesting to see how much of the Emmerdale personnel are recruited locally. The on screen talent certainly doesn't scream Yorkshire anymore.

Apart from Emmerdale and Calendar, there's nothing else that's actually filmed at The Leeds Studios, Some of the shows have their production Office based in Leeds (I'm Assuming that Countdown's Production Office is in Leeds too) and there isn't many other Studio Based unscripted shows (Gameshows, Chat Shows, Panel Shows, etc) that are filmed in Leeds, The only other one I know of is Steph's Packed Lunch which is filmed at Leeds Dock.
The Midlands has a huge hole right now with no proper studio bases here. Pebble Mill, Broad Street and Lenton Lane have all gone. The truth is that some stuff has moved out of London, but it's nearly all in Manchester/Salford. In many ways, it feels like Manchester has taken over from Birmingham as the second city now. I've no issue with "levelling-up" the North of England but the Midlands feels very neglected these days. Granted, you can get to Euston from Birmingham in just over 1h 20m and even by road I can get to my Dad's in Ealing in 1h 45m (and that's honestly not speeding on the M1!) but still, the Midlands feels a bit forgotten about these days.

I have to agree the Midlands feels very forgotten. OK there is BBC Drama Village, but as this article says, the region has one of the lowest amounts of BBC spending. I don't know enough about the subject, but it appears the move to the Mailbox has been a complete disaster, and there was speculation on the old forum just before it closed whether or not they were looking to move out when the lease is up.

I always felt the East Midlands was the most unloved region by the BBC, but that just might be my local bias coming through. The headquarters are tiny, as is the only studio on the site. Until recently, there was room to expand, but I doubt that will happen.
As for the old Lenton Lane, I was there a few weeks ago for my CoVid vaccination, and was pleasantly surprised to see Studio 7 is still all fully rigged up for use, and dare I say it, some of the equipment looked in better nick than some I've seen in Media City. Maybe, when the need for the vaccination centre is no more, Uni of Nottingham could rent it out more often. They only seem to do so at the moment for the odd drama production and a church service. I've always been gutted I was too young to see any gameshows being filmed at Lenton Lane, but growing up I was in awe at the fact that some of my favourite shows (mainly the quizzes and Bernard's Watch) were filmed so close to my house. Even as a 28 year old when I got my vaccination, I had a smile that some of the signs around the back of the building were still in the Carlton font from the early 00s, with one or two probably being the same sign. The BBC didn't mention the East Midlands at all in the recent report!
Still think Media City would've been a good home for Saturday Night Takeaway. They go to Oz every year I'm sure they could manage the trek to Salford for 6 weeks. And I can't imagine the show would loose out much on talent. It's not like they have the likes of George Clooney and Meryl Streep on the show.

Plus a 6-7 Week run is too short to base it in Salford in My Opinion. If SNT had a longer run or If it had more than one Series a year then I'd say move it up to Salford for 1 or 2 shows each Series.

I think it could work. Maybe have a "Takeaway on Tour" year. I know someone said they're aren't enough studios in the country to host, but I think a 7 week series would be manageable. Have the first week or two at TV Centre then go on the road. Media City and Pacific Quay are probably the obvious spots, I don't know if anywhere in Wales or Northern Ireland is big enough, but would make sense to try and find somewhere so each nation gets one episode. Midlands could be tricky, but like I said above, University of Nottingham still rent out Studio 7 occasionally, so could be an option.
Then have the finale in Newcastle. I'm guessing St James's Park could be used if it's on a weekend Newcastle aren't playing, but Mike Ashley might not agree. I'd have said had it outside The Mitre for Byker Grove nostalgia, but it doesn't seem to be suitable in its current form.
I know none of this is likely to happen, but just a thought. Probably a sign I should go to bed as well
