KNHL/KGMB - Honolulu, Hawai'i

The 2 channel network duopoly finally launched the best news set in the Pacific region. Finally dumping their old fashioned dark and dated studio. Hawai'i News Now will soon debut a set that reflects the colours of the island state. The looks is formulaic in some aspects. One of the coolest features is the wood elements that hearkens back to the old fashion surfboards. Great new look for the a statewide news station with a lead anchor having probably the coolest name in the US - Ke'ahi Tucker. 8-)

Find most US news sets rather uninspiring. Some are better than others, but most feels like sets from the 90s with better screens.
That's a major improvement for Hawaii News Now. The old set was looking dated.

WOIO (CBS Cleveland) has one of the most tasteful set debuts in recent memory - a much better implementation of video windows than ITV for sure. Wouldn't look out of place in Austria or Denmark, save for the obnoxious 19 logo.

That's... not bad, yes certainly looks more European, maybe it's the use of red rather than blue?

I quite like that. At first glance I thought it was rebrand in Belgium or something (RTBF "Le 19h" maybe) Wink
It really has a European feel to it.

I do agree, I much prefer sets where it's not just "desk with jpeg of city in background".

That is nice, it's simple without being boring, and it feels classy.

One of my favorite sets is KWGN TV Denver's http:// https://www.newscaststudio.com/2...n-new-set/ the backgrounds change to show different elements of the state and it fits the local area very well.
Here's the launch of the new set for Hawaii News Now.

WDTN - NBC Dayton Ohio A very small Nexstar affiliate in the Southwest of of Ohio north of Cincinnati has received a massive upgrade for such a small affiliate. The features a 2 level video window and white-washed stacked stone. Big video wall stand up area. Modern soft-area with a custom designed sofa with a video wall. Over all it looks good.

WTTG Fox 5 - Washington DC. The Fox affiliate moved to a new building and they just debuted a massive 2 story set for the nations capitol FOX affiliate. The 25 story building is across the river in Bethesda hence the tall building. Which are outlawed in the district itself. The new building is nice and the set Looks good. Perfectly fine for a major city affiliate. Thankfully FOX has allowed the afiiliates to move away from those trashy FOX-mandated graphics. Which always was the low-point on any new set they created.

What a improvement, just like Hawaii News Now!
WJBF - ABC 6 Augusta Georgia - (This is city in which the Masters Golf Tournament is held) Augusta is small market. This station is owned by Nexstar but got a massive upgrade that is similar to the sets found in a MUCH larger market. The centre piece is a 2 story video wall behind the main anchor desk.
