The STV News at Six also came from Aberdeen tonight. I'm guessing that will be the case all week?

Are they still only doing a combined national service?

Yes, still pan-Scottish programmes for now. I'd like to think normal service will resume next week with the biggest easing of restrictions on Monday here in Scotland, but can't see that mentioned anywhere.

STV Central's lunchtime and late bulletins are coming from Edinburgh this week. The upscaling from the Edinburgh studio is a vast improvement on what is coming out of Pacific Quay.

Do STV have the flexibility to record one regional version shortly before broadcast like itv in England? Surely this would be better then a pan regional program?

Glasgow studio not being used this week again, Edinburgh only.

Presumably down to testing the new HD gallery.

Also, Glasgow is in a higher COVID level (3) than the surrounding areas at the moment with non essential travel banned - it could be that they have decided that they don’t need to do the split bulletin for the supposed short period it is in place

Journalists regardless of travel restrictions are still able to travel freely due to the nature of their work.
Even during level 4 restrictions, Norman and Andrea were coming to Glasgow when it was pan regional.

The GMB bulletins have been coming from Edinburgh as well.
I thought it was Aberdeen to begin with.

The Aberdeen and Edinburgh camera angles and set look so similar, but the upscaled SD gave it away.

Unless I'm mistaken, the GMB bulletin this morning with Sasha Spratt was from Aberdeen rather than Edinburgh as it was outputting in HD including the VTs. Weather was certainly from Edinburgh in SD.

It certainly looks like HD is on the way at long last.
