Don’t know why Midlands Today not being able to put out Breakfast bulletins today has made the Daily Star… but it has.

It's been said several times before ever since this phenomenon began of online counterparts of national newspapers running melodramatic stories about minor changes to TV programmes, but if people stop clicking on these and just ignore them then maybe they'll stop writing them.

Amazing to think the building only lasted 33 years, and it took over half that duration to knock up a plaque
Tweaks to the set up on Politics Midlands, the sofa being divided into three, the podium is still in use for the political reporter.

Presumably as guests on studios are back and a need to show clear social distancing in operation?

I have to say that square rostrum is really obviously out
Of place when like that
Callum Watkinson returned to ITV News Central tonight. He was reporting from a Nottinghamshire forecourt. Think this is his first reappearance since the incident

Might need some context around it for those not in the region - the said reporter lost his temper earlier in the year at someone in the background of his live report - waited for a package to go on air and launched into a tirade (frankly a massive over-reaction).

I guess ITV didn't sack him then!

Did he threaten to ******* bang them out if he didn't come back from suspension?
There was a rare reference to “Central” at the end of the bulletin just now from Charlotte Cross.

When signing off at the end, she said something along the lines of “from me and the rest of the team at Central, goodnight”
Central have scrapped social distancing this evening.

Also seems they may have re-recorded their backdrop for the West Mids as the new tall lamp posts (new as of about two years ago) of Centenary Square in Birmingham are now in full view.

It also appears to have been filmed from a vantage point a bit further back than the previous version, so that the top of the Library Of Birmingham building is no longer cropped out of the top of shot.

This means that the right-hand "side window" now contains either buildings slightly further south along Suffolk Street Queensway and/or a different perspective on Birmingham Town Hall. Or something.

I don't recall whether the BT tower was previously as prominent (or even appeared at all) in the right-hand of the 3 back wall "windows"?

I wonder if that was part of reason for the change, BT rebranded the tower and removed the crane from the top over the last year.
Sameena hosted solo tonight on ITV News Central. Explained at the end that Bob is having to self isolate as he’s awaiting the results of a PCR test he took today.

As Steve was doing Sport and Matt is away doing Forces News, it’s a shame they didn’t get another male presenter in to fill in for Bob or even one of the female presenters for something different.

They used to sometimes have two women presenting back in the 'old days' - I remember Joanne Malin and Llewella Bailey presenting together on at least one occasion (most notably the night Central News at Six became 'Central Tonight' - never understood why they did that. Well, it was during ITV's 'let's make all the regions copy London Tonight' phase...).
