BBC4 seems to have added Saturday Night TV as a new weekly theme to its schedule.

On this coming Saturday 30 July, BBC4 repeats "The Fight For Saturday Night" followed by an edition of Bruce Forsyth's Generation Game:

On the following Saturday, BBC4 repeats editions of Noel's House Party, Strictly Come Dancing and Blankety Blank:

Wait for click bait articles about Noel’s House Party returning to appear.

Anyway, not something I saw happening anytime soon.
Bit of a shame the Strictly episode is just from the last series - you'd think they'd go for one from the Brucie years.

Strictly is something they probably could repeat full series of (with the required edits for phone numbers etc.) on BBC4 and find an audience for them in a way I don't think would happen if they were just boxsetted on the iPlayer.
Is this just for the next few weeks or is it permanent? I'm hoping it's more permanent.
I can't see them putting stuff up against Strictly.
Wow, I never thought the BBC would repeat an episode of NHP.

Do we know which one it is?

I'm not sure old TV shows have the same appeal outside of our geeky circles. I once asked my mother what Saturday night TV shows she used to like watching back in the day. When she told me she used to like watching The Generation Game, I offered to pull up an episode on YouTube on a Saturday night when the schedules were particularly weak.

She waved away the idea because she didn't want to watch "old stuff" on a Saturday night. Then again, she's adamantly against watching anything she's seen before, even if she can't remember anything from it.
Well Noel's House Party will be shown as part of their Saturday night classics, just announced on their BBC Four schedules, with the choice of edition yet to be confirmed.

It will air at 7pm on Saturday 6th August 2022.

I'd be surprised if it wasn't an edition that featured Mr Blobby.

Most episodes did, considering he was in the Gotcha segments for the 2nd? series and then proceeded to become the breakout character for the next five years or so.
Are there any episodes of Noel's House Party with Terry Wogan in it? As that night seems to be very Terry Wogan themed.
Is this the end of the foreign dramas or is this just for summer and they'll be back in September?

Most likely Summer break as they are airing Senorita 89 in the autumn.

I suspect it will run for a few weeks.

BBC4 have done a similar season for Sunday night dramas in the past with "The Cult Of Sunday Night" and repeats of All Creatures Great and Small, Howard's Way etc.
I’d love to see bbc 4 air the old Saturday morning shows like live n kicking and maybe even swap shop
