She was perhaps best known as Ingrid Fletcher in Porridge and Going Straight but she also worked with Morecambe and Wise and was also in Eldorado. She always provided solid support in every show she made (apart from Eldorado which was doomed from the outset IMO)

To be fair, she did an amazing job on Eldorado and having watched the one retrospective documentary made on it, she really wanted it to work - especially after Corrine Hollingsworth had made such an effort into turning it around. It's a real shame as Hollingsworth genuinely wanted to turn it around and make it work after such a disastrous start.
The BBC have always been good at p*ssing money up the wall but the cut-and-run approach of Eldorado was a huge mistake. Alan Yentob simply didn't care about how much was already invested.
All a bit OT but I remember Brake most for Gwen Lockhead so I hope you understand.

Absolutely. We all have our opinions. I also saw the documentary about Eldorado ( I think was part of the BBC’s “trouble at the top” series) and Patricia was very candid about the show)
I am one of the many freaks on the Facebook Eldorado thread. Hard to believe that a soap launched 30 years ago still jumps to mind occasionally.
Patricia and Campbell Morrison, who played her husband on the show, were arguably the best actors on the program. Yes, the first 4 months were ropey but it really started picking up a pace when one of the brothers at the beach bar got schizophrenia. Wonderfully scripted and acted.
When the identity of Freddie's Paco was revealed, that was a shock as was his death shortly before his marriage to Ingrid. Everyone was heartbroken but poor Freddie had to mourne in silence.
Oh, it was so good towards the end. If bloody Alan Yentob give the show another 12 months (especially considering the sunk costs to point), it would have been a smash. It was averaging 7 or 8 million an episode towards the end.
To this day, the dream of living in Spain has never left me and it was prompted by that show.
She was basically the Wendy Richard of Eldorado- while not quite as famous as her, she was the only recognisable face amongst a sea of unknowns.
Not sure which documentary she said it in, but Patricia Brake was quite honest about the show and says it essentially ruined her career thereafter
I had such a crush on Ingrid. Kathy Pitkin as Fizz was always touted as the eye candy but in reality it was all about Ingrid. I felt sorry for Kathy as she could have been a decent actress given some coaching, but like Dieter (the German guy?) she was really chucked in at the deep end.
Got to admit Fizz was hot!
But pairing her up with Bunny, what were Tony and Julia thinking? It was the first thing on Corrine Hollingsworth's hit list.

Wouldn’t have been allowed nowadays.
She was, in my opinion, head and shoulders above the rest of the cast of Eldorado. Such a pity to see her saying it ruined her career.
