Quote:Channel 4 News will also be advertising for a new presenter, based in Leeds, as it looks to increase the scope and ambition of its news coverage across the UK. Leeds will become a home for digital and specialist output with around 15 roles based there.

Greg Scott?
Good choice, although any of their team (Cathy, Matt or Jackie) would have been great. Big shoes to fill, but I'm sure Krishnan will do a excellent job as always.
C4 News is in a great position after Jon retired as any of them could have become lead presenter and it wouldn't make any difference to the quality of the bulletin.

They may go internal for the Leeds gig again and go for Clare Fallon, the current North of England correspondent. It's a shame Liz Bates is off to Sky as she'd be another contender as she's from the area.
The way C4 News has been structured means they've all regularly led the bulletins for years anyway - Krishnan for over two decades. And although Jon Snow was the only one of the team who didn't take the secondary role (in the studio at least) he was as likely to front the half hour Friday bulletin as head up the show at the start of the week.

Indeed actually interesting they are naming Krishnan as the lead anchor when in recent years they tried to switch to the two hosts having more equal billing.

P.S. Does Alex Thompson present much anymore? At one point he was a regular stand in for Jon but it's a long time since I've seen him host the bulletin.
