Says Hugh Sykes, whose own Twitter handle states him as being an Ex BBC reporter and has a link to a Podcast service.....
A great radio reporter, and they don't want radio reporters now. Hugh was one of the best wordsmiths and reporters, and always brought a very human aspect to his reporting.
Eddie Mair to retire. (A loss to broadcasting generally, whether audio or visual).

So basically ‘I’m leaving one bit of the BBC to join another bit, for a bit’
Maitlis endorsing Clive myrie for newsnight - thoughts?
He's too big a loss to the network bulletins to restrict him to Newsnight.
Christian Fraser would be the perfect Newsnight presenter for me.

I agree. He's clearly a priority for BBC Network News and is extremely popular with viewers, even more so since the war began. I can't see him even wanting to jump to Newsnight.

I'd love for Victoria Derbyshire to get it. I really wasn't a fan when she started out on Television with her own show, but can't find a negative word to say about her. She's excelled across the board.
Agree about Victoria Derbyshire - if anything, not being tied to her own show and its own format has allowed her to show her depth and flexibility (something she showed on Five Live all the time). Think she's brilliant on the 'structured' BBC One bulletins as well as having really grown into rolling news. She has that warm, authoritative delivery you also get with Clive Myrie and Martine Croxall at the moment.

Agreed. I think Christian, Victoria and Faisal would make a great presenting line up when Kirsty and Mark move on - which surely they can’t be far off doing?
Long-serving BBC World News Business Presenter, Jamie Robertson, presented his last BBC bulletin (on radio, actually) last night.

Another one has left the building......
When did Sky News’ Ian Woods join ITN?
